Ellen Olivier
Since 2009, Ellen Olivier has been a contributing writer to the Los Angeles Times, chronicling the city’s most important charity and cultural events for the Sunday “Image” section, the Calendar section, and the newspaper’s online fashion/lifestyle/entertainment sections.
Previously, as a Newport Beach resident, Ellen had been society editor for the Orange County Register, where she also produced television news spots on the subjects of society, fashion, and culture for OCN-TV, the company-owned Orange County News Channel.
Formerly the owner of an award-winning boutique public relations firm, she managed media relations, launched new products, advised on cause-related marketing, represented clients on TV talk shows from coast to coast, staged fashion shows, and mounted special events. Her firm won numerous awards, including the Prism Award from the Los Angeles Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America for producing the year’s best special event.
Active in the community, Ellen has served on boards of Women in Film, the World Affairs Council, the Library Foundation of Los Angeles, the Costume Council of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and South Coast Repertory Theatre.
