Eligibility criteria

  • The organization to be funded has 501(c)(3) status.
  • The organization has been operational for at least three years and has annual revenues of $500,000 or more.
  • The organization or program to be funded operates in the greater Los Angeles area.
  • The organization or program serves a population that is at least 75% women/girls.
  • The program to be funded is non-sectarian. The proposed grant must be focused on program related initiatives; operating support and advocacy-based funding requests will not be considered at this time.
  • The organization or program to be funded is consistent with and furthers the mission of Visionary Women.
  • The proposed grant supports a specific program or initiative focused on at least one of Visionary Women grants funding areas of focus. (see above)
  • No organization may receive more than one grant in a calendar year.
  • If an organization has been funded for 3 consecutive years, they are ineligible to apply for a period of 2 years following the end of the last grant period.
  • Downtown Women’s Center

    Through the support of Visionary Women, DWC’s Financial Literacy Education Program was able to provide the technology, training materials, curriculum and workshops for financial literacy training and resources to over 350 women in their learning center.

  • Women’s Earth Alliance

    Visionary Women’s grant has helped establish initiatives that have increased community access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene.

  • Chrysalis

    Chrysalis is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a pathway to self-sufficiency for homeless and low-income individuals.

  • Indego Africa

    Launched in Rwanda in 2016 and Ghana in 2017, Indego Africa’s Vocational & Business Training program provides young people with artisan vocational and foundational business training.
