Karen Murphy O’Brien

Karen co-founded Murphy O’Brien with partner Brett O’Brien, following a successful career in luxury, hospitality, and entertainment public relations. Celebrating 30 years in business in 2019, Murphy O’Brien is the third largest public relations firm in Los Angeles, with over 60 talented industry professionals, primarily women. Murphy O’Brien is consistently rated among the top 10 places in Los Angeles to work by the Los Angeles Business Journal and nationally for PR News. Karen is deeply committed to her work with several charitable and philanthropic organizations and serves as an active board member of Chrysalis, an organization dedicated to creating a pathway to self-sufficiency for the economically disadvantaged. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the National Children’s Chorus, one of the world’s premier treble choruses that provide musically talented children the opportunity to learn and grow in an extraordinary environment.
