Visionary Women’s NextGen Scholarship Initiative

Visionary Women is proud to partner with California State University, Northridge, Mount Saint Mary’s University, University of California, Los Angeles, and Otis College of Art and Design through our NextGen Scholars initiative, supporting first-in-family women undergraduate students. Through these university partnerships, each Visionary Women NextGen Scholar receives a $5,000 award, distributed evenly across trimesters or quarters, to help further their academic journey and leadership potential.

This unrestricted award is designed to remove financial barriers that prevent students from cultivating their career interests, networking, and more generally, participating fully in campus life. 

This award will be spent at the discretion of the selected NextGen Scholar. However, potential ideas for the award dollars include reduction in the number of work hours, expenses related to campus club dues, items for dorm rooms/school supplies, business attire, participation in networking events, or simply, meals with their peers.

Our scholarship criteria are as follows:

• Currently enrolled in a 4-year undergraduate university or college in Southern California (juniors and seniors eligible)
• Woman (or identify as a woman)
• First member of their immediate family to matriculate to a college/university
• Currently enrolled in a Work-Study Program
• Academically motivated
• Brief 250-character statement describing how the scholarship will help them achieve their career goals.
