Upward Bound House
Visionary Women’s grant has helped Bright Futures expand its impact, including opening a third maternity group home in South Los Angeles, allowing them to serve up to 23 pregnant and parenting youth each night. Despite ongoing challenges, including turning away 225 requests for help last year, the program has seen significant successes, with several families moving into permanent housing and participants achieving stability and employment.
In March 2024, Bright Futures celebrated the first graduating class of its revamped life skills program. Twelve mothers completed a year-long Parent Wellness and Life Skills Program, which they co-designed, covering topics such as self-defense, financial literacy, and parenting. Their dedication to personal growth and mutual support highlights the transformative impact of the program.
